Forecasting Model 
Many supermarket chains
use gravity models to forecast weekly store sales. This technology has
been computerized since the late 1970's and is based on Huff's Law of
Retail Gravitation. Robert Smith, RDC Inc.'s founder, was building analog
models using slide rules 40 years ago. The current software allows the
analyst to build many factors and barriers into the model resulting in
an accurate forecast. We have built hundreds of forecasting
models. Projecting sales is a fool proof method of determining how good
a site is and when it begins to show sufficient sales.
Good news is that even if
the site shows in adequate sales forecast, you can limit your
pre-development costs.
